As M/M romance and gay new adult gain in popularity, I’m
so happy ecstatic that more conferences are popping up. Conferences are a great way for M/M readers and authors to connect with each other. Reading and writing can be a really solitary hobby. Some days, I’ll be listening to my characters and writing great dialogue only to realize that I haven’t spoken a word aloud all day.
And while chatting with people online is mega-super-awesome, there’s something to be said about hanging out with people in person. I love love love meeting people in person that I’ve known online. It’s like meeting a pen pal or long lost relative. You have an already established connection. You already have mutual interests. There’s no better icebreaker than “Nice to meet you! We follow each other on Twitter.”
Euro Pride Con – July 11-12, 2015 – Munich
Euro Pride Con is an international gathering of the writers, readers, bloggers, and publishers in the LGBT fiction space.
There’s going to be a slew of fun panels, including one called Gay Sex Ed 101. It involves demonstrations. And Bananas. (Is this a company called Bananas or actual bananas??) There’s going to be a massive raffle of over 50
shades of gray different prizes like books and gift cards and even a mysterious gift basket.
EPC is being held on the same weekend as Munich’s pride parade, so you’ll get double the eye candy, too!
Right now, EPC is only the second LGBT fiction convention held in Europe. If we can help make it a success, then it’ll keep going and more will follow. Our community is global, and our conferences should represent that. And how cool will it be to hang out with thousands of LGBT fiction readers
and bananas for a weekend? Like me, if you’re unable to attend, consider making a small donation for support.

What’s your favorite conference memory? What’s it been like meeting other people just as crazy in love with M/M romance as you?
